The Tiger Lillies s-au format în 1989 și trecerea timpului nu a făcut decât să pună în evidență unicitatea sound-ului, originalitatea conceptuală a spectacolelor și calităţile lor de muzicieni şi performeri desăvârşiţi. Spectaculozitatea reprezentațiilor live i-a propulsat de la show-urile de început din pub-urile londoneze şi performance-urile stradale, pe scena reper a teatrului englezesc Piccadilly Theatre sau a Casei Operei din Sidney și le-a adus numeroase turnee mondiale ce au inclus teatre și cluburi, dar și mari festivaluri de artă ( film, teatru, dans).
The Tiger Lillies şochează, amuză şi distrează într-un mod vodevil postmodernist prin inimitabilele lor spectacole pline de franchețe ”in-yer-face” pentru care nu trebuie să stabilim nicio limită. Muzica lor compilată într-un numar de peste 30 de albume, pare un mix între cabaretul berlinez antebelic, opera anarhistă şi muzica ţigănească, ce rezonează cu vocile lui Bertolt Brecht şi Jacques Brel.
